This is a layout I have never seen running myself, although if I bounce up and down vigorously enough in the larger of our two rooms in the clubhouse I can catch glimpses of it, because it lives in storage above the new 0-gauge layout. Dear Member, Your Layout Manager has suggested to me that should we continue to make large layouts, the stowage of these layouts my well restrict the room to model in. The present layouts are unaffected by this suggestion. Subsequently he has asked me to put together a plan so that the individual may express their talents in their own way. We agree that this way forward should stretch members so that they can seek advice from the more experienced cadre….
Despite sniffles and snuffles there has been activity throughout the month. Firstly, we tried an experiment with the small Thomas layout that Tom had proposed would run in the entrance foyer at the exhibition, close to where the ticket table and refreshment area would be situated. The event went very well indeed, with a steady stream of visitors. The Albert layout ran for most of the time, whilst Tom hovered around his sales tables and Lyn and June organised drinks and eats in what space remained in the socal room. The n-gauge Burton on Shreen layout was kept running for most of the day, playing host to some distinctly un-British locomotives for a while.
