We spent a lovely morning at Peter Lord’s G-gauge “Shreen” garden railway on Tuesday 10th July. The timing of which proved to be an inspired move considering the unbelievable hot weather, which has become too much in the afternoons. Carol must be thanked for her provision of sausage rolls, cakes and drinks which she provided, most welcome! Cotehele Quay 7mm Goosemoor Station Stores 7mm Tom’s Wharf 5mm NG
This is to be a fold up layout consisting a 4’x2″ basewith 2′ extension on both ends that fold up with the help of hinged pillars at the joints. (This will give enough height to clear the modelling on the 4’x2″ base when folded). Suggestions of the type of layout have been asked for and several items have been discussed. Notably: A coal mine A rural setting with undulating hills and a river/lake Consultation still continues! Watch this space!
At the request of event organisers, Tom was recently invited to represent the club at a health and wellbeing show in Tisbury. He took along “Tom’s wharf” a 5.5mm narrow guage representing an East coast Thames barge in a river setting. The layout has also been requested to be shown at Swansea on Oct 7th/8th stay tuned!
