Fishers Creek
This layout displays a few elements typified in the Innisfall Tramway of Northern Queensland, Australia. By 1900 These tramways were bringing minerals, timber, bananas and some sugar cane to the coastal port of Mourilyan. In 2019 this area was the 10th largest sugar producer in the world. Subsequently, the trade in other commodities has declined in the last century. The majority of the tramways were of a two-foot gauge. This area is classified as a tropical rainforest and the owner has tried to incorporate a variety of ferns, the prominent growth is eucalyptus trees.
Mourilyan went from this simple layout plan in 1890’s to a full-sized port by the beginning of the Second World War. The motive power is that at hand and is not accurate, but the rolling stock is fairly accurate. Modellers licence has been used with regard to the track gauge as the owner wanted to make a one-piece layout and had surplus 009 track and 09 rolling stock to hand. This is a DC layout with two controllers, one for the simple track layout, and the second handheld for the sidings crane made of locally sourced timber. Water work is mainly casting resin with pockets of varnish.
