Lilliput

Lilliput

This layout fulfils the urge to model lain Rice’s Clun (on the River Clun). His actual plan as drawn would have been unsuitable in size for transportation in a reasonable SUV. A factorial of 7.5 inches to his one foot squares was used.

The title was derived from the fact that a number of Lilliput houses were given to the Mere club. The track system is Peco code 55 fine-scale and the turnouts are operated by Gaugemaster point motors. Dapol electronic signals are used and these are regional to the GWR. The locomotives are mostly southern region by Dapol but the rolling stock is a mixed bag.

Railway buildings are made from Wills kits. The scenery is designed by the author who likes his resin rivers and hand-built bridge. Back scenes were applied by Nancy Broach as well as the colouring schemes and finishing touches that add to the overall presentation.

As the original idea of Clun having a railway station is fictional I reserve the right of freedom to place this layout in the Southern part of the country.
