The Mere 2017 Exhibition Report

The Mere 2017 Exhibition Report

This is an image-heavy post, it may take some time to load them all fully, so be patient, it’s like trains and buses, you hang around for a while and suddenly the whole lot arrives at once. The images will open into full-size pictures with a click on them, and then the browser back button will return you to the post.   The 2017 event took place on one of the hottest weekends for a long time, and the lecture…

The wrong side of the tracks

The wrong side of the tracks

Exhibition time is not far away now, and Three Bridges by the Sea is cantering towards readiness. Peter H (I’ve not been able to grasp the numbering system) showed me a couple of points (no, not those points) where some wonderful detail has been completed but the viewing public aren’t going to be able to see it, because they stand on the wrong side (or do we, the operators?). They’re probably empties in the shed, or maybe it’s a bit…

Great things are afoot, earthling…

After a jolly Christmas, and with Tom and Lyn escaping the recent frosts for a visit to warmer climes, progress has once again been caught by the camera. Well, if Lyn had been here there would have been a much earlier post, as her phone seems to get the detail that my phone obstinately refuses to capture. The O-gauge layout not only has track laid, but this wonderful fiddle-yard traverser turned up last week. The club’s new 00-gauge layout has…

Open day December 10th 2016

Open day December 10th 2016

The event went very well indeed, with a steady stream of visitors. The Albert layout ran for most of the time, whilst Tom hovered around his sales tables and Lyn and June organised drinks and eats in what space remained in the socal room. The n-gauge Burton on Shreen layout was kept running for most of the day, playing host to some distinctly un-British locomotives for a while. The O gauge layout does at last have something I can photograph…
